Discs: LUTHER WRIGHT AND THE WRONGS

Rating: NNN

In a rare flash of hoser genius, Kingston louts Luther Wright and the Wrongs — last seen backing Sarah Harmer in Weeping Tile — combine their love of Pink Floyd and twangy guitars by redoing the Wall album country-style. Sure, it seems nutty, but the anti-authoritarian thrust of Floyd’s epic lends itself surprisingly well to a backwoods white-trash recontextualization. Rebuild The Wall will likely confound both Pink Floyd and country fans alike, but from now on this is what militia members will be rocking in their rented vans.
