Eamon I Don’t Want You Back (Jive/BMG) Rating: NNN

Rating: NNN

Staten Island’s Eamon might look like Slug, but on his debut he sounds more like an angry Domino. He follows the path set by his huge single, (Fuck It) I Don’t Want You Back, by tackling the subject of women’s infidelity, partying with unfaithful women and being good at macking unfaithful women. Thematically, this could be country music. The capable production hits the mark often, coupled with appearances by N.O.R.E. and Milk Dee of Audio Two fame, who also helps handle things behind the boards on some tracks and guests on Get Off My Dick, probably the album’s best song. If you can accept Eamon’s melodic, whiny complaints about women, I Don’t Want You Back works. If you cannot, it remains unemployed.
