Not a lot of local independent bands drop 60 grand to record an album, but when you're convinced the boom-box babies will salivate over the crystalline clarity of 24 tracks, a second mortgage seems a safe bet. This five-piece is fronted by Trevor Lewington and Brian Buchanan, and as their name suggests, bagpipes and fiddles go head to head with guitars and bass. This is what the Irish Rovers would sound like if they were weaned on Elvis Costello. The arrangements are tight, and most of the 12 tunes have funky bridges, but the overall effect is more James Taylor than Bob Dylan.
