Erlend ye is one-half of Kings of Convenience and also provides some of the vocals for fellow Norwegians Royksopp. This is his take on the DJ mix – not so much mixed as compiled. He puts his spin on it by singing over top, in some cases on covers of instrumental versions of his own compositions, and in others writing alternate melodies and words. The sound is bouncy electro-pop that sometimes errs on the polite and boring side. Happily, Avenue D’s 2D2F (too drunk to fuck) keeps it on the list of CDs inappropriate for restaurant background music. Other contributors include Morgan Geist, Richardo Villalobos, Royksopp and the Rapture.
