Although Dicks appears to be triphop duo Fila Brazillia’s 10th album, it should probably be pointed out that these are really outtakes and leftover sketches from the largely ignored disc they released earlier in 2004. Charmed by the raw, naive quality of the unfinished tracks, they decided to collect a whopping 23 of them here, keeping them as short under-produced mini-songs. Eclectic and unpredictable at times, Dicks is also disjointed and inconsistent. The under-production sounds unfinished and half-arsed, and barely a dozen of the 23 songs are worth including. Fila Brazillia would’ve been better advised to take the time to choose the right songs and finish them instead of trying to release every idea that crosses their minds.
