It’s a given that emotion and music are like two peas in a pod, but what happens when the emoting going on is just too goddamn much, sounding like the band’s hearts are all gonna explode or something? San Francisco-based art rockers Film School may have hit the official emotional ceiling on their second disc, a perfectly enjoyable and to-the-point album that leans heavily on influences like the Cure and My Bloody Valentine. The never-ending intensity of the music coupled with singer Krayg Burton’s restrained anguish and beautiful walls of guitar don’t necessarily make for an easy listen, but if you can immerse yourself in the fervour, it’s a solid album.
