What is up with fashion-core kids these days? What’s with them all
dressing like mall punks who just discovered their older sister’s Cure collection? It’s not quite so easy to pigeonhole FFTL. Even though they look the part of talentless, screamo cash-cows, there seems to be more going on with Dear Diary and its catchy but still aggressive mix of post-punk and pop. The influence of bands like At the Drive-In is undeniable, and there isn’t anything wildly innovative going on here, but their saving grace is in the band’s energy and excitement. That comes through loud and clear.
