Surprisingly, the best song on this diamond-solid album by long-running New Orleans funk band Galactic doesn't feature Lyrics Born, Mr. Lif, Gift of Gab, Boots Riley or Chali 2na. Rather, it's the title collabo with Juvenile - the odd man out in the stable of indie rap guests here.
Starting with the 808 kick of your typical snap track, the joint smoothly moves into the N.O. rap veteran's shimmying flow over a cavalcade of white-hot horns (courtesy of the Soul Rebels Brass Band), congas and triangles. There are a few hot instrumental numbers, but most of this is your favourite undergrounders (add Ladybug Mecca and Z-Trip to the list above) doing their thing over bangin' live funk beats with ace production.
