Gash

Gash (independent) Rating: NNNN Rating: NNNN

From what I can hear, Toronto rockers Gash are seedy, trashy, funny and have ballsful of energy. They like lust and liquor and are reminiscent of old Detroit rock, with a little bit of good old Meatloaf-style Spam. Is there an adjective that means campy and meaty all rolled into one? There is, though, the danger that I’m getting it all wrong and that Gash really do take themselves seriously and consider themselves rock stars. If that’s the case, this record sucks. Gash play Sneaky Dee’s Friday (February 7).
