After delays, extreme anticipation and the leaking of strong tracks that didn't wind up on the album, expectations for the newly un-Killah'd Ghostface's fourth LP are high. Luckily, The PTA does not disappoint. It builds on the sound of the underrated Bulletproof Wallets, using mostly unsped-up soul vocal samples and deep horns. Ghostface has forged a distinctive sound and handles more production than ever, also forgoing any Wu appearances except for a couple of RZA-produced songs, including the one-minute Kunta Fly Sh**. A contribution from Raekwon would have been cool, but strong showings by the Lox crew over the course of the incredible Metal Lungies and Run tracks distract from the lack of Wu MCs. A great entry from the most distinctive personality in hiphop.
