Goat horn Storming The Gates (October 32nd) Rating: NNN

Rating: NNN

Toronto’s chud-metal faves’ recent CD on local label October 32nd is a work born of love of rock and good humour, which isn’t to say that their approach to metallic thrusting is ironic or wink-laden. They just obviously love their early-80s untainted metal and having fun. This is apparent in both their live shows and on this release, which highlights their tightness and chugging, doomy sound, albeit on a budget. It never doesn’t rock. Worth hearing for the saddest, most aborted attempt at a metal falsetto in ages on The Last Force. Goat Horn rock the 360 Saturday (November 15) with Rammer and Orodruin.
