Gomez

A double record seems a little cocky from a band with only seven years under their belt, especially one that many people on this side of the pond would recognize only as “that band with the song in that car commercial.” Fortunately for Gomez, it’s a live record, which makes it a little more acceptable. Either way, it’s doubtful that Gomez will be winning new admirers with this release. There’s nothing inherently wrong with this record, save for some diversions into excessive wanky jamminess, but for new listeners Gomez’s brand of folky, bluesy Britpop will probably make a better impression out of the studio. For fans only.
