The ever-astute Gonzales has realized there’s no longer much celebrity cachet in being known as the Jerry Lewis of electroclash – at least outside of France – so he’s preparing for a future on the airport hotel lounge circuit with this feeble first crack at piano-bar diddling, cleverly named Solo Piano. There’s nothing remotely jazzy, daringly avant or even slightly funky about his tenuous approach to the keys on this disjointed set. It’s 41 tedious minutes of boring trinkle-tinkle to accompany the least exciting shadow puppet show you can imagine.
