This is a DJ mix with a bit of a twist. UK duo Groove Armada add percussion by Patrick Dawes and vocals from Mad MC over top of their mixing. The tunes are predominantly dubby disco house, with a bit of a dancehall feel tacked on by the MC. It’s more upbeat than Groove Armada’s chill-out tracks, but less big and pumping than their massive hit I See You Baby. The mix was put together as a companion to their ongoing club event, Lovebox, so this is probably a good indicator of where they’re going – sort of a more mainstream take on that acid-dub-disco-rock-house sound. Not mind-blowing, but good fun nevertheless.
