Hiretsukan

Rating: NNNN

The folks at G7 actually begged ultra-political Hiretsukan to re-form after breaking up in 2002, and with damn good reason – this is freaking intense. They play fast, to-the-point melodic post-punk with elements of hardcore, making them sound like a very pissed-off At The Drive-in. Screamer Michelle Proffit has one of the strongest, most terrifying voices out there. End States captures the band’s explosive energy, and at just 30 minutes long, it certainly doesn’t wear out its welcome.
