Monolith massive IRS keep things tight on their major-label debut. There’s precious little filler on Welcome To Planet IRS. Instead, the threesome of Black Cat, Korry Deez and TRACKS keep the spotlight on crunching beats, hard rhymes and a focus rarely found on hiphop records. IRS have enough confidence to change up their style from track to track, alternating between underground stunners, club-friendly pop cuts and the swaggering T-Dot Anthem, but they never indulge in experimentation or variety for its own sake.
