JACKSON BROWNE The Naked Ride Home (Elektra/Warner) Rating: NN Rating: NN
Jackson Browne and James Taylor are cut from the same unbleached hemp cloth: Boomer-friendly singer-songwriters with the earnest sincerity of an organic-farming hippie uncle. Both of them have been crankin’ out clean-cut California folk-pop for the past three decades or so. The Naked Ride Home is more of the same pleasant gentleness, a guitar-driven, slickly produced disc that’s perfect for adult-contemporary drives through the country to see leaves change colour. Nice but bland.
