Jacques Lu Cont

Rating: NNNNN

Jacques Lu Cont, aka Les Rhythmes Digitales, aka Stuart Price, beat electroclash to the 80s revival back in the 90s, eventually getting called up to go on tour with Madonna as her musical director. Fabric must have thought that a Jacques Lu Cont mix CD would be a timely addition to their highly rated Fabriclive series, and the result is a crazy-quilt approach to the mix disc, encompassing everything from the Tom Tom Club to the Steve Miller Band, Junior Sanchez to the Pixies to Devo, all digitally edited and reworked into a fun, fucked-up and highly original mix. Electro and 80s influences abound, but so do rock, house, techno and punk, which makes it much more adventurous than the vast majority of dance mixes these days.
