Busted on a gun rap two years ago, Rexdale reppin' hiphop emcee Jelleestone is back, rhyming with thuggish attitude to go with his new prison-stamped street cred. So, suddenly he's 50 Cent? Not quite. The Hood Is Here has some hot beats, with 2 Rude and Omen delivering the sick shit, and guest spots from Elephant Man and Saukrates don't hurt. But instead of keeping it gangsta, Jelleestone makes the mistake of dabbling in some slow jams to show off his sensitive side, then makes a move for the dance floor with, you guessed it, Dance Floor. Just when you think it can't possibly get any worse, Nelly Furtado jumps on the closing remix of Friendamine and does her Nelly thing, which the label likely believes will finally break Jelleestone. Sadly, it just might.
