Jets Overhead

Jets Overhead (independent) Rating: NNNN

Rating: NNNN

Victoria-based Jets Overhead dance a fine line musically, trying to raise the ghost of psychedelia without being burdened by the weight of history. It’s a hard goal, and I’m not quite sure the Jets pull it off without a couple of scrapes for their trouble. Still, even with that 60s spectre looming, Jets Overhead create tunes of infectious diversion and notable inspiration. The inevitable single, Addiction, has all the earmarks of a super-ambitious chart-climber, full of swirly vocals, bursting guitar refrains and beautiful mid-song changes. It wouldn’t surprise me if Addiction gets stuck in everyone’s ears this summer. Jets Overhead play the 360 Thursday (March 4) at midnight.
