Kardi gets a lot of love for how hard he reps the T-dot, and deservedly so. But to focus too much on how proudly local he is diverts attention from the reasons folks nationwide and in the U.S. and UK (note how he calls in white-hot cameos from Vybz Kartel and Bus-A-Bus like it’s nothing) keep checking for him: his talent, energy and charisma, well showcased on his rowdy third record. Maybe it’s cuz he produced every song that his vigorous patois-accented flow sounds right throughout this nonstop party LP. Despite the continuous thump, you’ll never once think he’s lacking substance.
