Kiss Alive IV (Sanctuary/EMI) Rating: NNN

Rating: NNN

So KISS went and made an album with a symphony orchestra – what a shocker. Not exactly an original idea. And you wanna know what it sounds like? It sounds like KISS – without Ace Frehley – playing with a symphony orchestra. It’s cheesy, over the top and very, very silly. Ballads like Beth and Forever sound much the same but with more instruments, and rockers like Detroit Rock City and Shout it Out Loud sound a little less rockin’ and a little more elevatorish. While some people can never get enough of Rock And Roll All Nite, I don’t need another version just because it’s got violins on it.
