Kittie Oracle(Artemis) Rating: NNN
The second full-length album from London, Ont’s all-girl Kittie is exactly what any metal/thrash fiend would want in his or her collection. It’s a non-stop barrage of loud drums, screaming guitars, heavy bass and gnarly-throat melodies. What makes them different from other bands in their genre — aside from the all-female factor — is that they can bring it down successfully, mixing the growly with the melodic, vocally and musically. Still, it’s almost impossible to follow the lyrical theme here. There’s only so much shouting you can take before it all starts to sound like one long rant.
