KMFDM

Rating: NN

This Chicago performance features most of the tracks from KMFDM’s 2003 release, WWIII, as well as a few others like the classic Juke Joint Jezebel from 1995’s Nihil, Brute (also from Nihil) and a couple from 1993’s Angst. Current female vocalist Lucia Cifarelli adds a less chaotic element to the performance, quelling the cacophony a tad. That said, it’s still a gnarly, thrashing, pounding experience with enough strobe lights to give the faint-hearted seizures. Kind of irritating. The DVD also features three music videos (for Ultra, Skurk and Stars & Stripes), footage of the band frolicking and goofing around as well as tending to fans – aw! what nice, regular guys! – and interview footage, not only with the band but with crew members, including the guitar tech and the monitor engineer. So I guess there’s something here for both the aspiring rock star and the aspiring roadie.
