Brooklyn's Lil' Kimberly Jones spent the better part of 2005 in the eye of a scandal storm. Last month she was convicted of perjury for lying to a grand jury about her Junior M.A.F.I.A. clique's involvement in a shootout with Capone-N-Noreaga outside of Hot 97. Now Biggie's ex-mistress, the queen of nasty sex-raps, is in federal prison for a year. This disc drops as the plastic-surgery-enhanced hiphop diva zips up her orange jumpsuit, so she's got no shortage of things to rant about. It sounds like a Bad Boy album - Kim's still reciting Biggie lyrics like they're hers. Thematically it's uneven as all hell (the Scott Storch-produced Ja-fakin' Lighters Up takes some getting used to), with about five bangin' tracks, 12 bricks and way too many skits. But when it works, you just can't fuck with the Martha Stewart of flows. It's a hood thing.
