Power ballad alert! Sooner or later, Fred Durst was bound to try reaching beyond limpbizkit’s pimply-faced adolescent boy following, and on Results May Vary he employs the old hair-metal strategy of throwing some tender ballads into the mix with the usual quota of blowhard aggro anthems. Unfortunately for us all, the melodically challenged Durst is a shouter, not a crooner. Until he figures out how to turn his barking rants into verses and choruses to create songs, he’d be much better off using his trademark style of holler-rapping to convey the unique pain that only misunderstood millionaire music celebs can know.
