Lo-Fi-Fnk are a Swedish electro-pop duo who’ve been enjoying a fair amount of buzz in the past year or so. Within this album’s first few bars, it’s immediately apparent why – the hooks are massive, and the upbeat energy is highly contagious. Listeners should be warned, though, that this is very much a bubble-gum take on synth pop, so if you’re averse to major-key sing-alongs you may find it too sugary. This completely disposable, bouncy fun will sound even better once the sun starts shining again.
Lo-Fi-Fnk play Tuesday (March 27) at the Drake.
