Loon (Bad Boy) Rating: NN Rating: NNNNN
Diddy's newest hope for revitalizing the Bad Boy name (and Monica Lewinsky's high school classmate) Loon has a sleepy flow that sounds like a slightly more awake Mase. He's already helped with his appearances on the I Need A Girl singles. Here, he raps to the best of his ability and tackles 17 songs, but R&B guests like Kelis and the always-skippable Carl Thomas mostly tackle the hooks. Still, it's too much, and his repetitive cadence wears thin after a couple of tracks. He's good when he gets all slick Rick on us and tells tales of gunplay gone wild, but even then it's nothing new, and the choruses are lazily jiggy.
