That Los Lonely Boys cleaned up at this year’s Austin Music Awards might seem impressive, but consider what similar sweeps have done for the careers of Austin celebs Bob Schneider and Malford Milligan. The three Garza brothers – Henry, Jojo and Ringo (on drums, of course) – rock out à la Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble with a little Latin lilt, although the superficial songs are closer in style to Los Lobos at their most earnest. Their album’s lame, but Los Lonely Boys can kick it live, as they’ll prove at the Horseshoe Wednesday (May 12).
