MAIN FLOW AND 7L

Rating: NNN

We’re not disputing the fact that 7L got beats. On Flow Season, the producer deftly gets his golden era on, paving seasoned MC Main Flow’s way with a sparkling, Illmatic-flavoured cornucopia of bulky drums, Pete Rock-like horns, solemn keyboards and muted bass lines. But lyrically, Flow comes more plain than the unfrosted side of a Mini Wheat. When he’s not rhyming about his rhymes, the seasoned Cincinnati MC kicks redundant raps about guns, hustling, robbing, killing and stacking money. Seizing beats, but on Flow Season Flow’s flavourless flow could use a little seasoning.
