Matthew Good strikes me as evidence that Canada randomly accepts any white musician. This record is more of what you expect of Good, with his high-pitched keen and lyrics similar to Gord Downie’s, except predictable. On this one, ballads and rockers get equal time, and they often have swearing. When he sings the word “mother,” he sounds like the anti-Danzig.
Matthew Good tries to pull off a three-night stand at the Mod Club Theatre, starting Tuesday (June 8).
