If you don't already own the Miles Davis masterpiece, or you're a serious jazz collector, this 50th anniversary edition is close to perfect.
Disc one pairs Kind Of Blue with an already-released alternate take of Flamenco Sketches and nine short false starts and studio bits, while disc two offers the promise of six earlier recordings, including a 17-minute live version of So What from 1960 and Love For Sale, from the sextet's only other studio sessions.
Also included is a 60-page book, the album on blue vinyl and a 55-minute documentary, on which Q-Tip says Kind Of Blue is "like the Bible - you just have to have one in your house." That pretty much sums this set up.
Available for $124.99 at HMV (333 Yonge and other locations), 416-586-9668.
