MUFFLER CRUNCH

Rating: N

Ever see really bad open-mic stand-up comedy? I’m talking about the kind where some soul is bombing so bad that as a last resort he tosses off inside jokes because his buddies are in the crowd, even though no one else could possibly care about the time Brad got so high he ate a postage stamp. Muffler Crunch, a duo, sound like a bad inside joke designed for a handful of people who thought, “It would be totally funny if….” They’re like sloppy-drunk teenagers playing a bizarre mix of Meat Loaf meets the Melvins (badly), which does little for the senses except aggravate the shit out of them.

Muffler Crunch play Lee’s Palace Saturday (January 27).
