The Psychedelphian heathens from Bent Leg Fatima, tired of the rock and roll rat race, cast aside the instruments of Satan and discover the simple joys of clanging bells, slapping wood blocks, blowing noisemakers, plucking banjos and tweaking ring modulators in rootin’ tootin’ unison. Their monkey dance of a self-titled debut, involving members of the skronkly inclined Bablicon, jerks around like a post-rock jam band homage to the brain-teasing clank of Faust as seen through Captain Beefheart’s Trout Mask. Don’t miss these Need New Body knuckleheads when they open for the Owls at the Horseshoe tonight (Thursday, April 25).
