The powerful Back From Africa, with a sharp seven-minute excursion into meditative djembe vibrations, evokes Quincy Jones and MJ’s Wanna Be Starting Something. Thievery Corporation resurface to contribute a moody but funky jam called Crazy Stranger. It’s good that these producers are open to using most genres as reference points, but Apani B’s slightly arrythmic rap throws the end of the disc off.
