Guitar-wielding West Coast roots rock 'n' roller Suzie Ungerleider joins pals like Blue Rodeo, Ian Blurton, the Sadies and Ron Sexsmith to play a Canrock hoedown benefit for the Daily Bread Food Bank at the Music Hall Friday (February 13).
"Last Friday my friends and I got high and went to look at dinosaur bones at the ROM, but when we got there, we were captivated by African musicians, including this woman, who is a traditional Zulu spiritual healer known as a Sangoma. I only heard her say a prayer, but it inspired me to buy these sacred songs."

"This group is made up of Bill Bourne, Lester Quitzau and Madagascar Slim - who, coincidentally enough, also played the ROM last Friday. They combine different styles into a fusion of African, Indian and blues music. Hypnotic and deep."
"I love the way Mr. Sexsmith tells stories with a lilting, sympathetic and warm voice. I want to play There's A Rhythm for the Closer To The Heart benefit on February 26. I'll have to ask Bazil (Donovan) to teach me the chords, cuz he knows all Ron's stuff by heart."
