Our Lady Peace

Our Lady Peace Live (Columbia/Sony) Rating: N

Rating: N

All of the Our Lady Peace studio albums, in particular last year’s Gravity, showed an undeniable passion for the songs they were playing, so even peripheral fans would be interested in a live album. That such a sleepathon made it to stores is a shame. Raine Maida sounds tired and bored, completely unconvincing in his rock star prose and pose. The band goes through the motions like they’ve played all the songs a few times too many, only stretching out three of the 14 songs. Even then, Naveed and Starseed sound as passionate as a kiss from Grandma. A single-disc live album recorded over three venues, with no covers, a lousy mix and crappy photos combine to keep you a short step away from rigor mortis.
