Calgary-born guitar slinger Paul Brandt released his ninth record this week, and it's got all the ingredients for success.
Like Shania Twain, Brandt often blurs the line between new country and pop. The first track, Didn't Even See The Dust, sounds ripped from a Bon Jovi record (with the addition of a little twang), while the second number is loaded with distorted licks and lyrics about "getting my hands dirty" in the country.
Most will find this as nauseating as every other new country disc, but Brandt followers won't be able to get enough of the "loud and proud" Canadian celeb.
Paul Brandt plays the Danforth Music Hall November 10.
