At this point, Sir Paul's released enough substandard work that it's debatable if the David Kahne-produced Memory Almost Full stands as his worst ever solo album.
A combination of insipid songs and uniformly soulless performances, it deserves high placement among the other legendary Macca misfires Pipes Of Peace, Press To Play, Off The Ground, Tug Of War and Red Rose Speedway - all three-word titles. A coincidence? How an artist with McCartney's musical talent and bottomless resources can make an album that blows this hard defies explanation.
Of course, any disc bearing McCartney's name is going to sell, even if it's distributed through coffee shops, so whether the music is exciting or relevant to anyone but himself probably isn't a big concern. When it comes to McCartney's recordings, just remember: three word title, not that vital.
