Peaches Fatherfucker (XL Recordings) Rating: NNN
Electro-clash it girl Peaches tends to inspire strong reactions from listeners - either they love her or they're repulsed by her. If you set aside your opinions on electro-clash, though, what you hear on Fatherfucker is a light-hearted sex-centric electronic punk album. There are more guitars this time, and more overt punk references as well as more obvious R&B and hiphop influences. The Iggy Pop duet is fun, and it's interesting that she sounds more confident and in charge then he does. Not every track is amazing, but there are some very catchy romps throughout, and if nothing else, it should upset your prudish neighbours.
The ever-charming Peaches takes over the Guvernment October 9.
