PENNYWISE

Rating: NNN

Amidst all the relatively new fads in punk, it’s almost comforting in a way that Pennywise, along with bands like Bad Religion and NOFX, are still out there doing exactly what they’ve always done. Their latest, available through a free download deal via a partnership with MySpace Records, sees the band kicking out more of your standard politically fuelled and socially conscious Cali skate punk.

While the predictability of Believe isn’t gonna blow anyone away, the sheer energy and conviction they inject in the material means they aren’t just going through the motions, and their message remains earnest enough to continue reaching the hordes of disaffected youth who’ll see them at Warped.

Pennywise perform as part of the Warped Tour which rolls into Arrow Hall Saturday (July 19).
