Pete Yorn's only got two albums out, so a double live disc is obviously gonna feature a huge chunk of his canon, which is OK, I guess. Yorn is a fine songwriter and charismatic performer, offering affable stage banter and long stories alongside a lot of earnest, folk- and roots- tinged guitar rock. You get catchy stuff, drippy ballads, hits like Strange Condition and Bandstand In The Sky, the Jeff Buckley tribute Yorn penned the day Buckley's death was discovered. Yorn also covers Suspicious Minds and Junior Kimbrough's I Feel Good Again, and does brief renditions of Do You Wanna Dance and Atlantic City. It's all very sensitive, harmless, romantic and earthy - the musical equivalent of the chick flick. No wonder you can hear all the girls in the crowd swooning.
