Pink Try This (Arista/BMG) Rating: NNN

Rating: NNN

Pink enlisted as primary collaborator for this record Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, who brought along Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker. So you might be expecting a mess of hiphop-R&B-ska-pop-punk, but it’s not as bad as all that. The first couple of tracks are boring and poopy… oops, I mean poppy bits during which Pink yammers about being “trouble” and stuff like that. The duet with Peaches, Oh My God, is surprisingly less in-your-face badass than I expected – quite nice actually. There are a few really good tracks here like Catch Me While I’m Sleeping, a cool, sexy slow tune co-written by Mizundastood collaborator Linda Perry. Armstrong has a couple of decent contributions, but all in all I’m not sure he was the best choice.
