Pitch Black

Pitch Black Pitch Black Law (Universal Motown) Rating: NNN

Rating: NNN

This New York quintet is backed by stellar production from a large collection of boardsmiths, including great offerings from DJ Premier and Teddy Riley. It’s such good production that it often outshines the group’s quality flows. To me, the problem lies with the choruses if Pitch Black let the instrumentation or vocal samples handle the brunt of a chorus, it could highlight their verses better. Still, in a few songs all the elements come together. Give this a listen.
