This collaboration of McEnroe, John Smith, and Yy under the name of Park-Like Setting is built on a concrete-solid foundation. Mcenroe is gradually establishing himself as a Canadian one-man Beatnuts based on his dollar-bin flipped beats. While some of these resounding loops would make it possible to tolerate almost any rapper, fortunately you get three swift MCs here, telling tales, breaking it down and talking shit with easy wit, obscure/regional references and some zingers (like the gentle poke at music reviewers at the end of track 12). The vocal production is a bit lo-fi, but generally this project is layered and substantial enough to compensate. Some hearty, severely twisted illness from the underground.
