Images Of Sigrid finds Parisian romo kids Poni Hoax trying to follow up on the buzz generated by the Italo-?disco styles of their debut single, Budapest. While at times they overindulge in their post-?punk homage to Morrissey (13 minutes of Faces In The Water is a prime example), the band is able to kick the moody dance party into high gear on catchy Vince Clarke-?inspired hits like The Bird Is On Fire and Crash-?Pad Driver. It’s definitely worth checking out if Interpol, Gang of Four and Pulp are your thing.
