France’s Telegraph label (the minimal sub-label of Logistic) has just come out with a sequel to the first Post Office compilation. Once again we get quirky but funky minimal house from people like Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Fym, Ben Nevile and more, and once again the quality is all pretty good. In many ways, this sound is reminiscent of early Detroit techno and Chicago house, except that the artists are using tiny little samples of found sound instead of beat-up used synths and drum machines. It’s not really mixed, but the tracks are edited together in such a way that it still sounds pretty seamless. Some good stuff by a mixture of emerging and established artists.
