Priya Thomas couldn’t have found a more appropriate title for her fourth disc. Right off the bat she makes it clear that she’s pissed off about something and wants to make sure you’re pissed off about it, too. Opener Anything I Want I Can Get Me Some is scorching, filled with hostile yells and aggressive guitars, and her subject matter, a rallying cry against consumer culture, should get you worked up in no time. Thomas takes the frenzied pace down a notch on a few songs, but she’s mostly in your face throughout. Fortunately, it’s all singable stuff that might finally win her the attention she deserves.
Thomas hits the Drake tonight (Thursday, October 26).
