D12’s Proof comes through large on this debut, showcasing his skills amazingly over a well-selected group of underground beats. The most famous names behind the boards are Jay Dee and DJ Premier. Ignore the confusingly cartoonish cover and enjoy the flowing verses and beef-centric lyrics, often focusing on targets like Ja Rule and E-Sham. The beats are also solid, and it has a mix tape vibe that adds a relaxed feel to the whole record. One of the better hiphop releases of 2004 so far.
