It’s been a while since we heard anything from Revolting Cocks. Gibby Haines (the guy who sang on Ministry’s Jesus Built My Hotrod), Jello Biafra, Billy Gibbons and Rick Nielsen have joined in to rock the cock along with a few other folks who matter a little less. The record kicks off with infectious industrial experimentation, then slips in and out of a murky, slushy funk. About half the disc is pretty bad, but there are hot moments like Fire Engine, an old track written by Alien Jourgenson and Iggy Pop, in which Nielsen brings in some surf guitars and there’s this whole clapping along thing. I do think they are trying to be funny at times, but the lyrical content of the entire album is appallingly unfunny. Since this project is supposed to be juvenile, I guess that’s okay.
